For the first time in UFC history, the heavyweight and heavyweight champions will square off at the Octagon when Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier meet at UFC 226 in Las Vegas on July 7.
Miocic started with Cormier as a -185 favored coming back in +155.
Miocic, who will put his name at stake, is riding a six-fight winning series with five victories coming by first-round knockout. The Cleveland native has put himself in the discussion of greatest heavyweight of all time with a victory over Francis Ngannou in UFC 220. With that win, the new record was place by Miocic at three for consecutive title defenses.
Cormier is no stranger to the heavyweight division, as”DC” started his professional MMA profession a perfect 13-0 at the weight class before going down to light heavyweight. Cormier has quietly assembled among the most impressive resumes in most of mixed martial arts with wins over Anthony”Rumble” Johnson, Alexander Gustafsson and Frank Mir.
Cormier will attempt to become the fighter ever to hold 2 UFC belts concurrently, joining Conor McGregor, who accomplished the feat in 2016.
