Vegas Over/Under: 28.5
The Record Projection: 28-54 of fromal The Bet: Prevent but lean under
It’s the 1 set for the Sacramento Kings, if any over/under mark seems right about the money. But we will still lean ever so slightly toward the below, chiefly for reasons clarified by ESPN.com’s Kevin Pelton as he forecasted the Western Convention bottom-feeders to win only 27.4 games:
“Despite adding veterans Vince Carter, George Hill and Zach Randolph as free agents, the Kings are projected since the league’s second-worst offensive assault by RPM. Although this isn’t a part of the projection, few teams are going to have more incentive to boost their draft selection, as Sacramento won’t possess its first-rounder in 2019 because of commerce.”
That incentive to tank is big, and it may not even be as impactful as the possible reduction of Randolph. Explaining a situation that may soon use to the veteran power forward, Ronald Tillery composed for The Commerical Appeal:”The league’s collective bargaining agreement with the players’ association states a participant is going to be dismissed and disqualified from the NBA when he’s convicted of, or pleads guilty, no contest or nolo contendere to, a crime involving the prosecution supply of marijuana.”
Losing Randolph would thrust even more moments upon the Kings’ assortment of inexperienced players. And that is the theme of this roster, as management has done a praiseworthy job of building up their coffers following the departure of DeMarcus Cousins.
That approach won’t turn into wins yet.
