Vegas, likely capitalizing on the enthusiasm that surrounds all of the future celebrities, is already doing so. Nowadays, betting under is one of the most easy sports bets of the year.
Joel Embiid is not guaranteed to stay healthier. Markelle Fultz and Ben Simmons have played in a zero matches. The remainder of the roster is laden with upside, but they’re by no means guaranteed to break through and create strongly positive benefits in 2017-18.
Lest we forget, the Sixers went. If you bet the over, you are counting on a minimum of a 15-game improvement, and that’s rather a good deal to ask.
Of course, disagreements exist to the contrary. Philadelphia had so many turnover problems last year which counting on two rookie playmakers to direct the fee isn’t actually an issue. It won 28 games with Embiid only suiting up 31 times, and both numbers are most likely to trend up moving forward, especially with more depth surrounding the talented center.
But incremental advancement is still far more likely than a monumental leap from deep from the lottery to over .500.
